About me

Mervin Maier

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 40 years I have had the pleasure working in many counseling domains, including community based counseling agencies, private practice, and residential treatment. My last 7 years of working in residential treatment were spent working and living in Italy. Those years in Italy enhanced my understanding of the importance to nurture and strengthen the family unit.

Upon returning to the United States I started working in community agencies. Then, directed a program that provided counseling services to students with emotional and behavioral difficulties. For the last 14 years I have concentrated on private practice providing therapy services to families, couples, and individuals.

I offer consultation and supervision to therapists and associates as well as provide trauma and attachment trainings and presentations to both professionals and nonprofessionals alike.

I am a relation-based therapist holding certificates in Dyadic Developmental Psychology (DDP) and I have advance training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT).
