In October (2016) I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Scottish Attachment In Action (SAIA) Conference in Glasgow, Scotland which was co-sponsored by SAIA and the Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Institute (DDPI).

There were over 250 attendees for two days that heard presentations from professor emeritus Colwyn Trevarthen (University of Edinburgh, Scotland). Dr. Trevarthen lectured about infant and parent communication and intersubjectivity. Dr. Daniel Hughes spoke about Dr. Trevarthen’s work and its relationship and application to DDP. Dr. John Baylin addressed interpersonal neurobiology and DDP. Dr. Kim Golding and a host of others lectured on parent and child communication, interventions and practices. Drs. Julie Hudson and Edwina Grant emceed providing organization and much humor to the event.

While in the U.K., I travelled to Bradford, England and had the pleasure of teaching a DDP Level 1, four-day training for 24 social workers, care mangers, residential treatment workers, behavioral specialists, psychologist and foster parent.
